The Mountain Project is a three-storey, ~3,000 sq. ft. ski-in/ski-out townhome development at the base of Red Mountain in Rossland—built around energy efficiency, smart material choices, and green building techniques.

K2 Contracting delivered these 2-bedroom units with private hot tubs while executing a design that includes exposed rough-sawn glulam knee braces supporting the floors and shed-style roof system. Using balloon framing and coordinating closely with Zimtor Architects and WSA Engineering, the team detailed specific restraints to keep the wall system rigid and successfully managed adjustments to exposed structural elements to meet the project’s design intent.
